Baby Derrick AKA The Accomplice

My daughter came today to take me out to eat and to see My Grandson Derrick.
We went to Pizza Hut and had a great dinner and afterwards went to a Baby store to pick up a new car seat.
She found one she wanted and there was none left on the shelf for the customers but a box up on the top shelf ,so she got someone to get the box downand off to the cashier.
While everyone in line was playing cuchee coo wih the baby I took everything out of the box , there was 2 items in the box , so I figured it was the car seat and the car seat carrier .
She pays for the car seat and off we go.
As I was putting everything in the car my daughter notices that there is 2 car seats that I was stuffing in the trunk, I looked and I'll be damned, there was 2 car seats in the box, then it dawns on me that's how they ship them to the store , 2 per box so there is no wasted room or odd shaped boxes sothe truck gets full and no space is wasted.
Now my daughter asks me if we should return one, the right thing would have been yes on rerturning it but I want your opinion on this?
1 return one
2 keep both, one for each car.
3 donate one.
4 sale one on E-Bay
5 return one for store credit.

It's all up to you.
Please put your opinion in on this matter.

And remember....
Laissez les bon temps rouler!
And as always, thanks for listening!

Well my friend...the same thing recently happened to me with a water cooler I purchased at Canadian Tire.
I'd like to sound very pious and say it never crossed my mind NOT to return the extra one..but for a moment in time it did...but back it went. I was annoyed at myself for not commenting when I picked it up at their warehouse because the box was much larger than it should have been for one cooler.

Hugs,

ALBERTA Lori

PS I want to send you a siggie that Sugar made so will you e mail me at ABIceQueen@gmail.com to let me know.

Ya, I think it should be returned. However, you might call the store first, ask for the manager & tell them what happened and ask if it can be donated or should you return it. That's just a thought from Linda in Washington

I would return it but one day recently I put change in a machine for candy and it malfunctioned and two came out. I ate both. Wouldn't you know it, it was chocolate.

I'd return it.....we went back one time at the store because they forgot to charge us for the coffee we bought so we would definitely have to take the extra seat back......as tempting as it would be to keep it.....

Well, you don't need my opinion, it's unanimous... take it back!! (But you already knew that, didn't you! = )

I'm glad you spent some time with your daughter & grandson and enjoyed a meal with them.

I assume that the box for the car seat scanned the price for the purchase of one carseat. So, YES, I would take it back. I'd feel guilty if I didn't take it back. I'd feel like a thief and wouldn't want that bothering me for the rest of my life.

you know i'd take it back, lol, i'd have to. someone else might need one badly, & i'd have the last 2 of that model till more could be ordered. not fair. call first, talk with mgr, tell him what happened, & ask if he'll give you a store credit or discount coupon for "using your gas & time" to bring it back in. i've gotten things like that before. ;)

glad you got to spend time with dtr & gson. that's wonderful!

i see you put up the siggy you asked me for on your sidebar, it looks great there! :)

huggies...

In these hard economic times,it would be tempting to keep it. But I would return it as well. Sometimes the manager tells you to keep the extra item, just so long as he can mark it damages or lost on his account. (Hugs)Indigo

I agree with the others, call the manager first, then work with him to return it. He might send someone for it, or compensate you in some way to return it. Honesty is always the best policy, my friend.
Have a great day.

I hate to say it, but you should return it. I must be part Jewish because if I didn't return it I'd be suffering a guilt trip.

It wouldn't hurt to hint at some type of reward, though.
