Slip Sliding Away

Yesterday going to pick Debbie up from work, walking to the truck,I hit that patch of ice that I could not get up and the funny thing was that I felt it coming, the fall that is.
The fall was in slow motion and I was prepared for it and I landed ok at least I thought I did until this morning every bit of my left side of my body aches and my neck hurts like hell.
I wish there was a camera on me, it would have been a great commercial for " I've fallen and I can't get up!" And actually would have been not far from the trueth, with 2 total hips I just can't stand up,I had to crawl 10 feet to the fence to pull my sorry ass up out of the snow!
Going now to put Tiger Balm on this sore old body of mine!
And as always, thanks for listening!

John, I am so sorry, and in Wisconsin where I live, ice is a mortal enemy that kills people! I have acute [not cute] arthritis in both knees, bone on bone, so I am very careful and walk with a cane to help me balance. No shame in that. I am blessed to have a 2007 Ram Dodge 4 by 4 truck and I put my new power scouter in the back with a jib crane.
I hope you mend quick old buddy.

Cordially,

So sorry about your fall, Johnny G. My sister fell on icy steps when she lived in Dallas. She said the fall wasn't bad, it was that sudden stop at the end that was bad. LOL Guess you can relate to that!! Take care, friend, and stay upright if you can.

Wow I just read another journal entry about a family surviving electricity out and lots of ice. I think we suffer in the heat but that ice sounds scary. Be careful please.

Ah geesh, it's bad enough to fall but to fall with 2 hips replacements must be tough. Hope the soreness has eased up by now.
