Dancing With The Reaper

Yesterday at 6:30 am I got up to get a drink of water my throat felt dried out, I started to cough then choking then throwing up.
This went on for awhile then I could not breathe due to the fact my lungs started to fill up with fluid to appoint my right lung was not inflating properly because of plugs aka mucus filling in the air sacs!
I started to get light headed and fought for every breath I took, in the mean time Debbie got my nebulizer ready and got me on oxygen and the fight was on !
My legs and arms got tingly , which means I'm in full blown respiratory distress and am now fighting for every breath to stay alive due to low blood gases.
Within a half hour breathing became less difficult but still life threatening!
I did a whole days worth of meds in 3 hours to get back to normal breathing!
I danced with the reaper again and he is good and Johnny G. Has a few more Tangos on his card!
God Bless all of you and thank you for your concern!

And Remember........
Laissez les bon temps rouler!
And as always, thanks for listening!

P.S. COPD IS A BITCH!
This is how my mom died!

Hi Johnny,
Yikes ... that seems scary to say the least. I hope you went in to the hospital or saw a doctor or something? Thank God you pulled through!
Best,
Marty

I probably shouldn't compare my experiences to yours as I'm sure they were no where near as severe but I just want you to know that I understand to some degree what it's like. My breathing as gotten so bad that I had to fall asleep sitting up. (That's why I quit smoking)

John I'm sorry that happened to you. I know that's a horrifying experience and I wish there was something that I could do to make you feel better.

I will keep you in my prayers and please know that I care about you. If you ever need to talk, bitch, complain, laugh, whatever.. I'm an e-mail away. (((HUGS))) *M*

WOW!!! Scary!!! I'm so glad you are better... do you know the cause?? Allergy?? My son had to go to the hospital today for breathing problems, but they weren't as severe as yours! I'm so glad you are still here, we enjoy having you as part of our community, and I'm sure Debbie enjoys having you around, too!! LOL!! BE CAREFUL!!!!

I am so glad Debbie was there to help you get your nebulizer, etc. to get you back breathing better. That must have been so scary for you, especially since you only just lost your Mom not long ago. Please take care of yourself, my friend. You will be in my prayers.

I'm happy to hear you got the situation under control but I think perhaps you should have gone to the ER.

I hope you are stabilized today and feeling better.

That is so scary! I am so glad you are alright and Debbie was around to help. Does this happen often even if you take your meds? My boyfriend has asthma and he wakes up coughing every morning but it subsided after he uses his inhaler. Very glad you made it!!!!
