Oh, How I Love Fruitcake

Fruitcake (or fruit cake) is a cake made with chopped candied fruit and/or dried fruit, nuts and spices, and optionally soaked in spirits. In the United Kingdom certain rich versions may be iced and decorated. Fruitcakes are often served in the celebration of weddings and Christmas.
Fruitcake: Made with all the crumbs and garbage that hit the floor all yearlong made into a cake to give to your Favorite Family members that you love so much just to piss them off on Christmas!
There are actual places in the U.S.A. that pay people to make this all so tasty treat for your fine dining on Christmas!
Oh the Joy to receive one of these Tasty treats on Christmas!
And Remember.....
Laissez les bon temps rouler!
And as always, thanks for listening!
PS. All of the above was sarcasm

i always hated fruit cake...till i had a piece made by a little old lady in 1985...it was great!!! she was nice enough to share her recipe with my mom, who made it a few times, i have no ideal where that recipe went...but it was the only fruit cake i have ever tasted worth eating.
have a good week, dear friend.

Ok Garnett, I can't tell if you really mean this or are you being sarcastic? I really do love fruitcake. My mom made the best & when I make it I use her recipe. I didn't make any this year~the recipe I use must sit wrapped tightly for 6 weeks so didn't think ahead enough to get it done. Linda in Washington state

Fruit cake is something people really love or really hate. I use to make one every year as it had kind of been a tradition in my family growing up. I would only eat it when i was craving something sweet and didn't have any chocolate. lol

It took me a while to find you again. I really hate fruit cake, I think--afraid to actually taste it.
I have moved my AOL blogs to Blogger--see below.

Thanks

Neil
