Holiday Blues

With a drink in my hand and holiday traditions now gone here I sit gently weeping.
All my holidays started out alright but thru the times there was always something dysfunctional going on.

As far as gentle weeping goes, it is alot off my chest, blood pressure is down and my mind is calm but i sure miss Mom & Dad!

And as always, thanks for listening!

Growing up takes away alot of traditions... it IS hard sometimes to get through those times, because holiday traditions usually hold so many wonderful memories. Time to create new ones that you'll enjoy with those who are with you now.... Children, grandchildren, friends, or even pets. You can even make it a tradition to go help at a kitchen, on your holidays... that's great therapy when you're feeling blue. I do hope that you'll find some happiness during the upcoming season of holidays.

I get the holiday blues too when thinking of loved ones who have passed on...and how traditions have changed...since their passing...it's never the same...

Big hugs to you my friend!

It is sad that things have to change but unfortunatly they do. Just take care of you and do the best you can.

Sometimes, I really wish I could go back to being a kid, having a big Christmas and all the family together.

Hi Johnny,
Strange to say, but something about the holidays always seems somehow bittersweet. Looking at some of the other comments, I can see you're not alone as far as the Holiday Blues are concerned. I'm sure this year will be tough with your recent loss, but I hope maybe there's at least some comfort in knowing that you're not alone.
Best,
Marty

Awww I understand how you miss your parents and the traditions. I too miss the good old days when my Grandparents where around and the whole huge family would always gather for the holidays....no everyone is too busy with their own lives. Hope those blues go away soon!

It's going to be a rough time for you this year, that is to be expected. I miss alot of people over the holidays and often wish they didn't drag on so long.
