Today's Rant is about 2 hour delays for schools.
Is it me or is the freakin' system gone crazy?
I mean come on what the hell is up with this freakin' 2 hour delay for kids when the weather is bad?
Is because the city can't keep the roads safe or is it the fact that the school bus dispatcher does not want to bang up his shiny school buses?
Could it be for the safety of those special little tots that get on the bus?
Well if it is for safety's sake then put some freakin' seat belts on the buses and send those rug rats to school!
Snow Days, What the hell is that?
The only time I had a freakin' snow day was when it snowed over 3feet or the school bus drivers all called in for a freakin' sick day!
If the snow was deep we shoveled to the bus stop and if the bus got stuck we pushed it over the hill and a lot of us did not have the privilege and comfort of riding the bus, we had to walk both ways up hill to and from school without boots!
I don't know but the kids today got it easy!
Thats my rant for the day , enjoy your weekend!
And remember.......
Laissez les bon temps rouler!
and as always, thanks for listening!

I recall walking a mile to and from school everyday. Seldom any snow days unless it was a severe blizzard!
Hugs, Rose
I used to love when we had delays or snow days when I was in school. I don't get the 2 hr delay though. For what it costs to mobilize everyone & everything they should just cancel the day and save the taxpayers some $$$$.
We used to walk a mile and 3/10's to the Catholic school in Milwaukee. In high school out in the county boon docks of WI, we did have a few snow days every year, and then my brother and I went squire hunting..with our shotguns and .22 rifles.. lol. But in the 60's we all had a healthy 'work ethic' and people were not afraid to do their jobs.
Thank you for the good advice and suggestions for me to do more in helping my wife-- but we are both disabled, and isn't it great getting old ?! Woo Hoo!

It's seems that my son has more days off or delays than he goes to school - and don't even get me started on the holidays they take off - (I don't even know half of them). It's a wonder they learn anything other than taking time off! Have a great day, my friend,
Katie
Whooooaa Hooooo......we had a two hour delay on tuesday and then they cancelled school around 11:30 just as the kids were getting started and the parents were getting to work because of the delay...what were "they" thinking!!! Didn't have snow days in FL where i spent 24 years working for the school system.....Hurricane Days!!!!
Snow? What is snow? Did your pants get a size too small yesterday after the good dinner? My jeans did.
You have snow?
Hi Johnny,
I don't know anything about the two-hours deal, but I'm for whatever safety measures they put in place. Where I grew up, in New England, it sometimes seemed like they pushed it ... we plowed ahead with the school day even when the roads weren't always plowed. I'd rather see safety come first ...
Best,
Marty
These schools freak out about everything. They called me because my son had to flea bites, I AM NOT JOKING! *M*
